Artist Statement
State a statement, nt tat is ment. Artist, art is, art ist, is art?
I am a multi-disciplinary artist and writer. I enjoy playing with words and storytelling. I work across a range of mediums such as video, poetry, songs, theatre and performance, with a background in sculpture and installation. My main topics of interest are humour, language and arts accessibility. My work is often autobiographical and I draw on my own experiences, often using found objects and 'the everyday'.
I have worked in community arts projects, researching and developing design for East London Metropolitan Opera's 'Bat Out of Hackney' (read more here), running workshops and rehearsals in Platform Theatre as part of my final year project, as well as working in public libraries leading art classes and story-times for children. Collaboration is an important part of my practise and I enjoy working with people from a variety of backgrounds. Throughout the lockdown period I have taken part in a series of virtual exhibitions and public readings of my work, details of which can be found bellow.
I am currently studying a postgraduate degree in Arts Management and Creative Production at University College Cork.
